The Dana Dolly rides on lengths of pipe (speed rail), and the pipe length determines how far your camera can travel. You can separately rent official Dana Dolly track.
The Universal Track Ends drop into standard junior stand receivers (or 5/8" baby pins), so you can suspend the rails between two stands at any working height. You can also rest the track ends on apple boxes, tables or the ground for low-angle moves.
The platform takes a fluid head via the included 75, 100 or 150mm bowl adapters, or a head/plate directly on the Mitchell mount. It supports up to around 100 lb, so it comfortably handles everything from mirrorless rigs to fully built cinema cameras.
It depends on the pipe length you use — shorter rails for tight tabletop and product moves, longer rails for sweeping reveals. Because the rails set the travel, the system scales to your shot. Just let us know what you’re planning.
