What lenses can I use on the C50?
It has a Canon RF mount, so all RF lenses work natively with full autofocus. You can also adapt EF lenses with Canon’s EF-EOS R adapter (including the 0.71x speed booster), and PL cinema lenses with a PL adapter — the mount has fixing screws to take these securely. Let us know your glass and we’ll sort the right adapter.
Does it record RAW internally?
Yes — it records up to 7K60 Cinema RAW Light internally, in 12-bit HQ, ST and LT modes. If you don’t need RAW, it also shoots efficient 10-bit 4:2:2 in XF-AVC and XF-HEVC. These high-bitrate modes need fast, high-capacity cards, so we recommend adding suitable media to your rental.
Is the autofocus good for solo shooting?
Very — it uses the same Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system as Canon’s larger C80 and C400 cinema cameras, with reliable subject tracking, tap-to-focus and even bird tracking. That makes it a strong choice for one-person crews and documentary work where you can’t always pull focus manually.
Does it have a viewfinder?
There’s no built-in EVF — you compose on the 3″ LCD touchscreen, or feed an external monitor via the full-size HDMI. If you’d like a dedicated monitor for the shoot, we can add one to your order.
