Rent the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV in Canada — the full-frame DSLR workhorse that defined a generation of wedding, portrait and event photography. A 30.4MP sensor, dependable 61-point autofocus and a vast EF lens ecosystem make it a reliable, great-value choice for stills-first shooters. Key points:
30.4MP full-frame CMOS sensor; DIGIC 6+ processor; Dual Pixel RAW
61-point AF (41 cross-type) through the optical viewfinder; Dual Pixel CMOS AF in Live View
DCI 4K up to 30p (Motion JPEG, with a sensor crop); Full HD up to 60p; 4K frame grab
"The 5D Mark IV is the camera that earned its keep on countless weddings and shoots, and it’s still a brilliant stills tool. The files are lovely, the colour science is classic Canon, the 61-point autofocus is dependable through the optical viewfinder, and the body just feels right in the hand for a long day’s shooting. We point people to it when they want proven full-frame reliability and access to the enormous EF lens range. Be realistic about video, though: the 4K is heavily cropped and uses Motion JPEG, so files are large and it’s less flexible than a modern mirrorless body. For stills, weddings, portraits and events, it’s still a genuinely great choice."

Compatibility & what you might add
Pairs with any Canon EF-mount lens — one of the largest lens ecosystems available.
Yes — the 5D Mark IV applies roughly a 1.6x crop when recording DCI 4K, so your lenses are effectively tighter. It also records 4K in Motion JPEG, which produces large files. For full-frame 4K with no crop, a modern mirrorless body is the better fit; for stills the full sensor is always used.
No — as a DSLR of its era, the 5D Mark IV has no in-body stabilisation. Stabilisation comes from the lens (Canon IS lenses), so choose an IS lens for handheld work, or use a tripod or gimbal.
It uses the Canon EF mount, so it works with the huge range of EF lenses (and EF-compatible third-party glass). It does not take RF lenses. If you later move to a Canon mirrorless body, your EF lenses carry over with an EF–EOS R adapter.
It has one CompactFlash slot and one SD (UHS-I) slot. A fast CompactFlash card is best for sustained bursts and 4K video. We can add suitable cards to your order.
For stills, absolutely — image quality, colour and reliability are still excellent, and the optical viewfinder and long battery life suit weddings, portraits and events. If your priority is modern video features (uncropped 4K, IBIS, high frame rates), look at a mirrorless body instead.
