The autofocus is the star — eye detection sticks through messy, moving scenes, which is why our wedding and event clients keep coming back to it. Low-light performance is genuinely strong for a 24MP sensor, and the in-body stabilisation makes handheld video look intentional rather than shaky. If you need big files for heavy cropping or large prints, the 24MP count is the one limitation to be aware of — for that, look at the R5 Mark II. Q&A
Yes — with an EF–EOS R mount adapter, which we rent separately. EF and EF-S lenses then work natively, including autofocus and stabilisation. RF lenses mount directly with no adapter. Canon’s EF-M (crop mirrorless) lenses are not compatible.
A UHS-II SD card is recommended for 4K 60p and high-speed bursts. One is included with the rental; you can add extra cards if you’ll be shooting a lot of footage.
