Rent the Canon R5 II Video Kit in Canada — the EOS R5 Mark II with two fast zooms, a fluid video head, a Sennheiser shotgun mic and a matte box, so you can start shooting video straight out of the box. It suits short films, corporate and branded content, interviews, events and music videos. The kit includes:
Kit showing as unavailable for your dates? That usually means one item in the kit is already booked — the rest may still be free. Check the R5 Mark II, RF 28-70mm f/2, RF 70-200mm f/2.8, Manfrotto head, MKE 600 and matte box individually, book what’s available in one order, and we’ll pack it together. If one piece is out, ask us about an alternative.
Why this kit works
- Internal 8K RAW up to 60p, or oversampled 10-bit 4K up to 120p in Canon Log 3, with up to 8.5 stops of in-body stabilisation
- 28–200mm covered by two fast L zooms — f/2 for wide and mid shots, f/2.8 for interviews and tighter coverage
- A Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun mic for clean dialogue, ready to plug into the camera
- A fluid head for smooth pans and tilts, and a matte box to control flare on location
Our thoughts
“This is the kit I’d hand someone stepping up from stills into proper video. The 28-70 f/2 gives that cinematic, shallow look at every focal length, the 70-200 is perfect for interviews, and the MKE 600 makes a huge difference to sound. Together it’s a capable one-person production setup.”

Compatibility & what you might add
- The Manfrotto head is a head only — add tripod legs with a flat 3/8″ top, or ask us which of our legs pair with it.
- Add 4 × 5.65″ ND or diffusion filters for the matte box to keep a wide aperture in bright light.
- For long shoot days, add spare batteries and another CFexpress card from our memory range. 8K RAW fills cards quickly.
- For smooth handheld moves, add a gimbal. Or step up to a dedicated cinema body with the Canon EOS R5 C.
Q&A
The kit says unavailable — can I still get this gear?
Probably. A kit only shows as available when every item in it is free, so one booked piece is enough to block it. Check the R5 Mark II and the other listings above separately, book the pieces that are free, and get in touch if you need a substitute for the one that isn’t.
Does the kit include a tripod?
It includes the Manfrotto 502AH fluid head, but not legs. Add a set of tripod legs to your order and we’ll make sure they match the head’s flat base.
How do I connect the microphone?
Mount the MKE 600 in its shock mount on the camera’s shoe, then run the included XLR-to-3.5mm cable into the R5 II’s mic input. Plugged into the camera, it runs on a single AA battery, so bring a couple of spares. If you’re using a recorder or XLR adapter with phantom power, it can run from that instead.
Should I shoot 8K or 4K?
For most projects, 4K is the sweet spot: it’s oversampled from the full sensor, looks very sharp, and keeps file sizes manageable. Choose 8K RAW when you want room to crop or reframe in the edit, or the most latitude for colour grading. 8K and RAW record to the CFexpress card that comes in the kit.
Does the matte box fit both lenses?
Yes. It fits the RF 28-70mm’s 95mm front directly, and the included adapter rings let it clamp onto the RF 70-200mm’s 77mm front. The flags help cut flare when you’re shooting towards the light.
Which lens should I use for interviews?
Both work well. The 70-200mm at around 85–135mm gives flattering compression and a soft background from a comfortable distance. The 28-70mm at f/2 is great for a wider, more environmental framing, or as a second angle.
