Book the EOS R1 and the RF 100-300mm f/2.8 separately. Each has its own availability, so one or both may still be free. Put them in the same order and they’ll ship together.
Which sports is this kit best for?
Indoor and night sports are where it earns its keep: hockey, basketball, volleyball, and football under lights. You get f/2.8 at 300mm when most telezooms have slowed to f/5.6 or darker. For daytime field sports from the far end, a teleconverter adds the extra reach.
Is 24MP enough for sports?
For delivery to clients, press and social media, yes. The lower resolution keeps files small enough for 40fps bursts and quick transfers. If you expect to crop heavily, fill the frame with the zoom instead, or pair the kit with a higher-resolution R5 Mark II.
How much will I shoot on the included card?
A 128GB CFexpress Type B card is included, but 40fps RAW bursts fill it faster than you’d expect. For a full game or a tournament day, add a second card for the other slot. You can record to both slots at once for a backup, or overflow to the second when the first is full.
Can I send images from the sidelines?
Yes. The R1 has built-in 2.5G Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E for sending files to an editor or FTP server during the event. You’ll need to set up your own network or FTP details on the camera.
