The kit says unavailable — can I still get this gear?
Probably. A kit only shows as available when every item in it is free, so one booked lens is enough to block it. Check the R6 Mark II, RF 100-500mm and RF 24-70mm listings separately, book the pieces that are free, and get in touch if you need a substitute for the one that isn’t.
Can I use a teleconverter with the 100-500mm?
Yes, with Canon’s RF 1.4x or 2x. Because of the lens design, the zoom needs to be at 300mm or longer with a teleconverter fitted. With the 1.4x you reach 700mm at f/10; with the 2x, 1,000mm at f/14. Autofocus still works on the R6 II, and it’s best in good light.
Can I shoot handheld all day?
Most people can. The 100-500mm is about 1.4kg, and between its optical IS and the R6 II’s in-body stabilisation you can hand-hold at slower shutter speeds than you’d expect at 500mm. For long waits in one spot, a monopod or tripod makes it easier.
Can I shoot without scaring animals?
Yes. Switch to the electronic shutter and the R6 II is completely silent, which helps with skittish subjects and birds at close range. It also lets you shoot at up to 40fps to catch a take-off or a turn of the head.
Why two SD cards?
The R6 II has two SD slots. You can record every image to both cards at once, so you have a backup in the field, or set the second card to take over when the first fills up. Both cards are included in the kit.
Is 24MP enough for wildlife?
For most uses, yes. 24MP gives clean files at high ISO in poor light and keeps bursts quick. If you often crop hard into distant subjects, the R5 Mark II gives you more pixels to work with.
